After Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera was the most popular female singer of the late-'90s teen pop revival. Unlike many of her contemporaries, Aguilera was a technically skilled singer with a genuinely powerful voice, belting out her up-tempo...
SUPERBLY FABULOUS. Its an awesome CD which I recommend to anyone. The songs are great and I dont understand why some say there is not enough diversity because the truth is that there are many different types of wonderful sounds and beats to it. The music really gets you hyped up and it sounds awesome with Christina's strong voice. The first CD has more of a modern day twist to it with rocking beats while the second CD has more of the jazzy feeling. I am not a great jazz fan, but her songs still sound fantastic to me and i've listened to this CD over and over continuously since i've bought it. Go check it out!! =)
Christina Aguilera was also in Blackwell's fashion hall of shame. He called her a "dazzling singer" but added that she "puts good taste through the wardrobe wringer. All crass and no class."
There's something engagingly crap about Britney and her 'trailer-trash-with-a-budget' aesthetic that is hard, try as you might, to resist. True some of the tunes are complete pony plops, but beneath the occasional reek there beats a solid gold pop heart. The only faulting is that like her femme idol Madonna, she just tries too hard with too little. It's like Rik Waller trying to convince us there's a soul singer inside him (probably many more judging by his girth). Desperation is never an attractive quality, but beneath that pleading voice are some quality teeny tottering towers of tunes.
Three new songs illustrate the limits of her imagination: the ill-spirited title track, a remake which invokes drug-rehabbed ¨80s R&B star Bobby Brown as an unlikely role model; the instantly forgettable and biographically inaccurate ¸I¨ve Just Begun (Having My Fun)ª; and ¸Do Somethin¨,ª a decent bit of crunk where she raps in a cutesy-poo drawl that suggests she could have nabbed the Dukes of Hazzard sexpot role from Jessica Simpson. Britney can squeal, as Kevin Federline surely will confirm soon in an exclusive People magazine interview.
